Fiona Warren - PrincipalWho?
For almost 25 years Fiona has been in the architectural industry - first obtaining a diploma in architectural technologies, and currently is completing her masters in architecture. She has worked full-time during her studies and she has gained experience on complex high-profile projects such as University of Alberta UCommons Interior Fit-out, Brookfield Place Tower, South Health Campus Hospital, and the Edmonton Federal Building renovations. She has been a Project Manager and Collaboration Specialist for over 20 years and has had the privilege of seeing almost all of her projects built. She has also worked alongside local and international designers, contractors, and engineers. Renovating and restoring personal projects has also been a past-time, as well as dabbling in art. Her approach to art is like the approach she uses in project planning and execution - she starts with an idea that is sketched, massaged, outlined in ink, then coloured. This process includes discussions, comments, and collaboration with those around her. Her art uses simple materials that can be locally sourced. It is about the design and good execution. Why? Fiona is enthusiastic about blending good simple design with cost efficient building materials. Understanding how individuals would like to live in their environment day-to-day is an important philosophy of SaltandShelter. Our homes and community can be our sanctuary and affordability is always a concern to a client and one of the driving elements of strategizing a project from start to finish. Fiona believes that Canadians are ready for innovative and cost effective ways of living, which is what SaltandShelter can help with. |
